COORDINATOR

Abdullah Enes TÜZGEN

Abdullah Enes Tuzgen graduated from Bogazici University in 2008 (BA with Honors), and from Sabanci University in 2010 (MA in Political Science). He currently pursues his PhD education at the University of Delaware (U.S.A.). Before joining the department in 2017, he worked as research and teaching assistant at Alliance of Civilizations Institute (Istanbul), Sabanci University, and the University of Delaware. He worked as research fellow at the Istanbul Foundation for Research and Education (ISAR, Istanbul). His research interests are Theories of International relations, Politics of the Middle East and the Gulf, Regionalism, and Saudi Foreign Policy. He studied Arabic in Jordan (2003) and Syria (2010).

Mustafa KARAPINAR

Mustafa Karapınar graduated from Beyoğlu Anatolian Imam Hatip High School in 2012 and Marmara University, Faculty of Theology in 2017. During his undergraduate studies, he studied Islamic sciences, social sciences and linguistic sciences at the Honor Program of the Sciences and Arts Center (İlimler ve Sanatlar Merkezi Onur Programı). During this period, he gave seminars on Arabic and Islamic sciences for university and high school students, and worked as a coordinator in the Academy of High School Researchers. He still continues to carry out studies in the Master of Basic Islamic Sciences program in Ibn Khaldun University. He speaks English and Arabic.

Sezer DURAK

Sezer Durak graduated from Beyoğlu Anatolian Imam Hatip High School in 2011. He graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Theology in 2016. During his undergraduate studies, he studied Islamic sciences, social sciences and linguistic sciences at the Honor Program of the Sciences and Arts Center (İlimler ve Sanatlar Merkezi Onur Programı). He is currently preparing his thesis for MA degree in Islamic History from Marmara University, Institute of Social Sciences. He speaks English and Arabic.

Muhammet Talha KAAN

Muhammet Talha Kaan graduated from Beyoğlu Anatolian Imam Hatip High School in 2012. In 2017, he graduated from Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University Faculty of Law and in 2018 graduated from Anadolu University, Faculty of Economics, Public Administration Department. During his undergraduate education, he studied law, social sciences and linguistic sciences at various educational institutions. He completed his law internship in Istanbul Bar Association in 2018. He is currently studying for master’s degree in International and Comparative Law Program of Social Sciences Institute of Ibn Khaldun University. His areas of interest include Administrative Law, Air and Space Law, International Public Law and Civil Aviation. He speaks English and Arabic at Elementary Level.

Selman KÜÇÜKSUCU

Selman Küçüksucu graduated from Konya Mahmut Sami Ramazanoğlu Anatolian Imam Hatip High School in 2013. In 2018, he graduated from the Faculty of Islamic Sciences (% 100 Arabic) at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University. During his undergraduate education, he received Islamic Sciences, Social Sciences and Language Seminars at Istanbul Education and Research Foundation (İstanbul Eğitim ve Araştırma Vakfı – ISAR). He is currently studying for master degree at Istanbul University Social Sciences Institute Islamic Law Department. He speaks English and Arabic.

Fatma ATEŞ

Fatma Ateş was born in Germany. She graduated from Faculty of Theology of Marmara University in 2014. In the same year, she started to study for master degree in the department of Islamic Law at Marmara University Institute of Social Sciences. She completed her master’s degree with her thesis on precautionary principle in Islamic criminal law (2017). In 2015, she graduated from the Honor Program of Arts and Sciences Center (ISM) where she received Islamic sciences, social sciences and linguistic seminars during her undergraduate education. She served as a researcher in the Educational Support Programs (EDEP) Center for two years and continued her residency program while giving lectures on Islamic sciences here. She speaks German, English and Arabic.

Hatice UYARER

Hatice Uyarer was born in Konya. She graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Theology in 2017. In the same year, she started her master degree in the department of Islamic Philosophy at Marmara University Institute of Social Sciences. On the other hand, she graduated in 2017 from the Center for the Arts and Sciences (ISM) where she received Islamic sciences, social sciences and linguistic seminars. Uyarer, who is interested in Classical Islamic Philosophy, The Conception of Being, The Idea of Ibn Sina, The Relation Between Fiqh and Philosophy, is still continuing her master degree studies at Marmara University. She speaks English and Arabic.

Hüsna Hamiyet ALTIN

Hüsna Hamiyet Altın graduated from Robert College in 2009 and from the Department of History of Yale University in 2013. After completing her undergraduate studies, she worked as a researcher and interpreter at the Qur’an Research Center (Kur’an Araştırmaları Merkezi – KURAMER) of the 29 Mayıs University for two years. She received her MA degree from the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at Frei University in Berlin. She speaks English, Arabic, German, French and Persian and she is currently working towards her doctoral studies.

Şenel TOKSÖZ KORKMAZ

Şenel Toksöz Korkmaz graduated from the Theology Faculty of Marmara University in 2017. In the same year, she started to study for master degree in Istanbul University Social Sciences Institute Islamic Law Department. She graduated from the Center for the Arts and Sciences (ISM) in 2017, where she studied classical sciences, social sciences and language sciences with her undergraduate education. She is currently studying for a master degree in Islamic Law at Istanbul University Institute of Social Sciences. She speaks English and Arabic.
